Samuel L. Jackson has been announced as the latest cast member to join RKO Pictures’ “Barely Lethal.” The megawatt star and Academy Award nominee will join fellow Academy Award nominee Hailee Steinfeld, who plays an unsatisfied teen assassin in the project. The film will be directed by Kyle Newman, with script by John D’Arco. The film is being produced by RKO Pictures with Hopscotch Pictures and Brett Ratner’s Rat Entertainment. Principal photography will begin this fall.

As stated above, “Barely Lethal” is about a teen assassin who yearns for the normal teenage life:

“BARELY LETHAL is a playful, high-velocity action-comedy in which a 16-year old international assassin (Steinfeld) yearning for “normal” adolescence fakes her own death and enrolls in a suburban high school. When her former-employer (Jackson) comes calling, it becomes more extracurriculars than any teenager can handle.”

This film seems like it could be a really fun adventure once it comes to the theaters. It’ll certainly have many memorable moments, seeing how Jackson is one of the most electric actors working today along with Steinfeld’s own impressive resume, including the upcoming film adaptation of “Ender’s Game.”
