Apple has premiered the green-band trailer for “Frankenstein’s Army,” which will be in theaters and On Demand July 26. The film stars Karl Roden (“Hellboy,” “The Bourne Supremacy”), is directed by Richard Raaphorst and written by Miguel Tejada-Flores (“Revenge of the Nerds,” “Screamers”). Here’s more about “Frankenstein’s Army”:

“In the waning days of World War II, a battalion of Russian soldiers find themselves lost in enemy territory. Stumbling upon a village decimated by an unseen terror, they discover that a mad scientist (Hellboy’s Karel Roden) conducts experiments to fuse flesh and steel, creating an unstoppable army of undead soldiers. Leaderless and faced with dissention amongst their dwindling ranks, they must find the courage to face down an altogether new menace – or die trying.”

You can watch the trailer at Apple or below the post.

“Frankenstein’s Army” has been lauded for its terrifying monsters, all created with physical special effects techniques:

“Where Frankenstein’s Army really shines is with the stunning designs and monster make-up, with the film delivering old-style lumbering monsters without resorting to CGI,” said Mark Adams of Screen International. Rob Hunter of Film School Rejects also said, “The monsters at the heart of this POV nightmare are man-made monstrosities that resemble the twisted love children of H.R. Pufnstuf and the Saw franchise.”
