A brand new trailer and movie stills have been released for Sony Pictures’ “RoboCop.” The images from the film show how much the film will be centered around family. Of course, we also see that it’s centered around some craziness too, seeing how smarmy Samuel L. Jackson’s character looks. Check out all the assets below the post.

“RoboCop,” based on the 1987 film by Edward Neumeier and Michael Miner, is directed by José Padilha. The screenplay is by Josh Zetumer and Nick Schenk. The producers of the film are Marc Abraham and Eric Newman. The executive producers are Bill Carraro and Roger Birnbaum. The cast includes–along with Jackson–Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Abbie Cornish, Jackie Earl Haley, Michael K. Williams, Jennifer Ehle, Jay Baruchel.

The film, like the original, has a man who becomes part-man, part-machine:

“In RoboCop, the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Overseas, their drones have been used by the military for years–and it’s meant billions for OmniCorp’s bottom line. Now OmniCorp wants to bring their controversial technology to the home front, and they see a golden opportunity to do it. When Alex Murphy (Joel Kinneman)–a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit–is critically injured in the line of duty, OnmniCorp sees their chance for a part-man, part-robot police officer. OmniCorp envisions a RoboCop in every city and even more billions for their shareholders, but they never counted on one thing: there is still a man inside the machine pursuing justice.”

“RoboCop” will be in theaters Feb. 7, 2014.
