Since it’s the end of the year, I don’t know who is still thinking about the Miley Cyrus VMA performance in which she was twerking on Robin Thicke and leaving members of the audience–most notably Will Smith and his family–in complete shock.

If you are still thinking about the VMA performance and want to know what Cyrus thinks about her performance, you can read what she’s said to the New York Times.

“I went from people just thinking I was, like, a baby to people thinking I’m this, like, sex freak that really just pops molly and does lines all day,” she said. “It’s like, ‘Has anyone ever heard of rock ‘n’ roll?’ There’s a sex scene in pretty much every single movie, and they go, ‘Well, that’s a character.’ Well that’s a character. I don’t really dress as a teddy bear and, like, twerk on Robin Thicke, you know?”

I’d venture to say that there’s a little bit more behind the myriad of reasons people got so irritated with her performance. But you can read more of what she had to say at the New York Times or at Entertainment Weekly.
