Jason Reitman is almost a hidden gem in Hollywood. Two of his movies have been nominated for best Picture Academy Awards – “Juno” and “Up In The Air” – and Reitman has only directed five movies. His new film “Labor Day” might also receive awards consideration. Paramount Pictures released a new TV spot (via Yahoo! Movies) that features the film’s broken family. Read the “Labor Day’s” synopsis below:

“LABOR DAY centers on 13-year-old Henry Wheeler, who struggles to be the man of his house and care for his reclusive mother Adele while confronting all the pangs of adolescence. On a back-to-school shopping trip, Henry and his mother encounter Frank Chambers, a man both intimidating and clearly in need of help, who convinces them to take him into their home and later is revealed to be an escaped convict. The events of this long Labor Day weekend will shape them for the rest of their lives.”

Jason Reitman’s new film stars Kate Winslet, Josh Brolin, Gattlin Griffith, Tobey Maguire, Clark Gregg, J.K. Simmons, Brooke Smith, James Van Der Beek, Maika Monroe, and Alexie Gilmore as Marjorie.

“Labor Day” opens wide on January 31, 2014.
