In an interview with TVMix.com, costume designer Michael Wilkinson talks about selecting the outfits for the Hustlers in period piece, American Hustle.
The Oscar contendor follows the lives of the schemers behind the 1978 Abscam Scandal and their beautiful wives portrayed by Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence.
Wilkinson is known for clothing superheroes and comics legends, being the man behind the costumes on 300, Sucker Punch and the forthcoming Man of Steel. With American Hustle, he paid close attention to authentic period clothing and fabric choices.
Using high-end designers and plenty of double-sided tape, Wilkinson was able to craft the cleavage-heavy looks that suited the leading ladies on-screen transformation.
