Remember how earlier last week the news that made the rounds was of Armond White heckled “12 Years A Slave” director (and NYFCC’s best director) Steve McQueen during the New York Film Critics Circle Awards? Well, it seems that the NYFCC was not joking around when they said they were going to be taking disciplinary action. Armond White has now been booted out of the organization.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the New York Film Critics Circle confirmed Monday that the CityArts critic has been released from the organization. Allegedly, White yelled at McQueen, “You’re an embarrassing doorman and garbage man. F— you. Kiss my ass.” However, White has claimed that he never said such a thing, writing exclusively to The Hollywood Reporter, “The comments I made that I supposedly made were never uttered by me or anyone within my earshot.” You can read the comments White made in full by clicking here. Despite White denying the alleged heckling, White has made a name for himself being a contrarian critic, hating some of the most beloved films and lauding the worst films of each year.

What do you think about White being booted from the critics organization? Do you think the organization was justified with their actions? Give your opinions in the comments section below!
