Sundance Unleashes Cooties with New Official Poster

The highly-anticipated “Park City at Midnight” selection, ‘Cooties,’ has released its official poster. The poster coincides the horror-comedy’s world premiere tonight at the Egyptian Theatre during the Sundance Film Festival.

‘Cooties’ was directed by Jonathan Milott and Cary Murnion, and written by ‘Saw’ and ‘Insidious’ co-creater and scribe, Leigh Whannell, and ‘Glee’ co-creator and executive producer, Ian Brennan. The film stars Elijah Wood, Rainn Wilson, Alison Pill, Jack McBrayer, Nasim Pedrad, Jorge Garcia and Whannell.

The following synopsis for ‘Cooties’ has been released:

A mysterious virus hits a small Illinois town, affecting only the prepubescent population, transforming them into violent, feral little monsters. The virus centralizes in the town’s elementary school, and quickly the infected students have the teaching staff under siege, acting out deadly revenge fantasies with an eerie sense of childlike glee. Finally, the teachers band together, led by a hapless substitute who grew up in the town, realizing they must do the unthinkable if they hope to survive.
