The infamous knife-wielding Machete is returning in the Blu-ray and DVD release of ‘Machete Kills,’ the sequel to the hit 2010 action crime thriller, ‘Machete.’ New clips from the film, which was also distributed on Digital HD with UltraViolet and On Demand yesterday, were released in support of the home circulation. The film’s Blu-ray and DVD feature deleted and extended scenes, as well as a ‘Making of Machete Kills’ featurette.

Universal Studios Home Entertainment released the following official synopsis for ‘Machete’:

Danny Trejo (‘Grindhouse,’ ‘Machete’) returns as legendary ex-Federale Machete Cortez in this action-packed thrill ride from innovative director Robert Rodriguez. In his latest mission, Machete is recruited by the U.S. President (Charlie Sheen/Carlos Estevez; ‘Anger Management,’ ‘Two and a Half Men’) to stop a crazed global terrorist (Mel Gibson; ‘Braveheart,’ ‘Edge of Darkness’) from starting a nuclear war. With a bounty on his head, Machete breaks all the rules as he faces death at every turn from an all-star cast of deadly assassins.

‘Machete Kills,’ which was released in theaters on October 11, 2013, was directed by ‘Machete’ co-helmer Robert Rodriguez. The sequel also stars Antonio Banderas, Jessica Alba, Alexa Vega, Vanessa Hudgens, Cuba Gooding, Jr., William Sadler and Marko Zaror.
