Forever young singer Pharrell Williams has revealed that his upcoming album is for his female supporters.

The new album is suitably named G I R L and Pharrell told The Metro newspaper in London that the title has a special meaning for him.

He said “The music has had an incredible fan base, or what some would call family, and support system which has been women. That’s kind of the reason why my new album is called Girl.”

The album is set to be released on March 3rd and of course will include the number one hit “Happy”.

The 40 year old made his mark on 2013 charts, starring in Robin Thicke and T.I.’s “Blurred Lines” in addition to Daft Punk and Nile Rodgers “Get Lucky” who dominated the charts for large parts of the year.

Off the music scene, Pharrell has been drawing attention to a certain piece of headwear. He has been spotted wearing a bizarre version of the Stetson hats famously worn by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

He wore the unconventional hat at the Grammys and has since then worn it in different colours at other events, last time on Wednesday at the BRIT awards in London.
