“Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues” was a huge hit in the theaters, but of course, with this type of comedy film starring Will Ferrell and a cast of hilarious co-stars, you can probably expect there to be tons of alternate clips and bloopers. If you were wondering what kind of other takes the stars made for the film, you’ll be able to see them in the second showing of “Anchorman 2” in theaters. It’s the same movie, but with completely different alternate scenes (with 763 brand new jokes) and an R rating.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Adam McKay, the film’s writer/director, said “Every joke we did in the theatrical, we would shoot three or four alts to it. And in almost all of the cases, there was another really good choice.” The alternate scenes were also mentioned by Will Ferrell during his Feb. 20 appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” saying that the alternates, which were just as funny as the jokes that made it into the first cut of the film, were being edited into a different version of the film at the same time the original theatrical cut was being edited.

McKay also said that the alternate scenes are “darker, odder and stranger.” There’s also a musical scene that didn’t make it into the original. “If you’re a hardcore Anchorman fan go see this. If you’re not, stay very far away,”said McKay in a statement. With that in mind, check out the new cut of “Anchorman 2” (this time called “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues: Super-Sized R-Rated Version”) in theaters for a one-week engagement starting Feb. 28.
