The channel is created and hosted by Kathy Maister. Maister launched “Start Cooking” in 2006 to fulfill her dream of teaching people who want to get in the kitchen the joy of cooking. Initially, she taught eager students through her Home Economics class, but budget cuts eliminated her class. She became inspired to turn to videography after seeing her husband create a series of business videos.
