Forest Whitaker Feeling Repentance As Thriller Set For Home Release

Forest Whitaker is feeling ‘Repentance’ as the horror thriller is now available on Digital HD, Video On Demand and Pay-Per-View. The film is also set to be released on DVD and Digital UltraViolet on June 24 by Lionsgate Home Entertainment and Codeblack Films. The DVD, which will retail for $26.98, includes a “Making Of” featurette.

‘Repentance’ was directed by Philippe Caland, and written by Shintaro Shimosawa. The thriller also stars ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier‘s Anthony Mackie, as well as Mike Epps, Nicole Ari Parker and Sanaa Lathan.

Lionsgate Home Entertainment and Codeblack Films have released the following synopsis for ‘Repentance’:

Years after a drunken car crash that almost took his life, Tommy Carter (Mackie) has reinvented himself as a therapist/spiritual advisor who advocates a synthesis of world religions and positivity. He’s parlayed this vocation into a successful book release that one day draws the attention of Angel Sanchez (Whitaker), a profoundly troubled man fixated on the “untimely” death of his mother. When Carter takes on Sanchez as a personal client in an effort to raise funds for his indebted brother Ben (Epps), things quickly take a turn for the worse. Angel needs much more than a simple life coach.

What may be simple to grasp for some is the idea that single actions in the past comprise tidal waves of reactions in the present. Director Philippe Caland’s REPENTANCE examines these issues against a backdrop of kidnapping and murder.

‘Repentance’ is now available to watch on Amazon Instant Video (HD) and iTunes. Watch a clip of Whitaker from ‘Repentance,’ titled ‘Is Tommy An Honest Man,’ below.
