Twenty years after its release, “Dumb and Dumber” will finally see its sequel open in theaters. Harry and Lloyd will re-team for an unexpected sequel and the return of Jeff Daniels and Jim Carrey in the starring roles. The sequel film will be released during the holiday season in 2014 and will surely see some healthy competition at the box office.

The “Dumb and Dumber” franchise has seen some highs and lows over the last two decades since the first film was released. A prequel film titled “Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd” was released in 2003 to very little fanfare and critical response. An animated series from Hanna-Barbera hit TV screens across the country in 1995 with only one season.

At the moment, there’s not much know about the plot of “Dumb and Dumber To,” but the sequel will see Jeff Daniels, Jim Carrey, Laurie Holden, and Kathleen Turner reprising their roles from the previous film. Read a synopsis from Wikipedia below:

“Twenty years after their last adventure, good-hearted yet dimwitted best friends, Harry and Lloyd, head out in search for one of their long lost children in the hope of gaining a new kidney.”

Peter and Bobby Farrelly will also return to direct the sequel film. The brothers need a hit on their hands considering that their careers haven’t been the same since the 90s with movies such as “Kingpin” and “There’s Something About Mary.” The brothers were responsible for the lackluster “Hall Pass” in 2011 and “The Three Stooges” film in 2012, while Peter Farrelly was the mastermind behind “Movie 43” (yuck!) in 2013.

“Dumber and Dumber To” will hit theaters everywhere on November 14, 2014.
