Online voters were thinking Bon appetite as they selected Mask-a-Raid, a Scare Zone concept for the first-ever Universal Studios Hollywood Halloween Horror Nights Choose Your Scare online voting competition. Fans were hunger with anticipation to be greeted by a hoard of blood thirsty cannibals masquerading as French aristocrats during the Choose Your Scare competition. The winning cannibal Scare Zone concept is set to frighten audiences at the popular event this fall.

The Mask-a-Raid Scare Zone concept will be staged in Universal Studios Hollywood’s French Street location. It will transport guests to the time when masquerade balls were a staple of society in pre-Revolutionary War France. But the park’s guests will soon discover those behind the elaborate jeweled masks of the party-goers are really members of a blood-thirsty cannibal cult.

“We are always listening closely to what our fans want, but this was the first time ever that we actually went out and put the power completely in their hands to determine part of Halloween Horror Nights’ content,” said John Murdy, the Creative Director of Universal Studios Hollywood and the Executive Producer of Halloween Horror Nights. “The avalanche of votes we received confirmed our fans’ desire to be part of the process, and we are happy to give them exactly what they want.”

Besides the Mask-a-Raid Scare Zone, Halloween Horror Nights will also bring back AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead’ experience for an unprecedented third consecutive year. The horror drama’s exhibit will feature the maze, ‘Walking Dead: End of the Line,’ which will allow guests to take a harrowing journey to seek sanctuary at Terminus, an elusive destination that promises community for all. ‘Terror Train: Invaded by the Walking Dead’ will send guests on the road to Terminus, interspersed with landmarks and walkers from Season 4, including the burned moonshine cabin, charred walkers and mud walkers.
