“How much excitement is there for “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,” the next big hit of the summer? If you’ve been waiting to see Caesar and his new family terrorize some human refugees, hold back a bit! You can’t just jump into the action without knowing what happened in the 10 years between “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” and “Dawn.” Enter this awesome official prequel book, “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes: Firestorm.”

“Dawn of the Planet of the Apes: Firestorm” is written by New York Times bestselling author Greg Keyes, who has written the “Star Wars: New Jedi Order” novels “Edge of Victory I: Conquest,” “Edge of Victory II: Rebirth” and “The Final Prophecy.”

The official synopsis for the book doesn’t give any details. It just states what we already know–that the book will cover the portion of the story we didn’t see after “Rise.”

“Bridging the gap between the events of the box office smash ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ and the eagerly anticipated sequel ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,’ this movie prequel takes readers on a journey through the build up that leads to the action on screen.”

The book is available now at Amazon. What do you think about this prequel? Discuss your thoughts in the comments!
