Prepare For the Ironclad: Battle for Blood with the Film’s Release

Tom Austen and Michelle Fairley are preparing for the action in their new film, ‘Ironclad: Battle for Blood,’ as the adventure project is set to be released in theaters and on home entertainment. XLrator Media will release the action movie, which is already available on VOD and iTunes, in theaters on July 25, and on DVD and Blu-ray on August 5.

Besides Fairley and Austen, ‘Ironclad: Battle for Blood’ also stars Tom Rhys Harries, Roxanne McKee, Rosie Day, Predrag Bjelac and Andy Beckwith The action movie was directed by Jonathan English, who also co-wrote the script with Steven McDool.

Of ‘Ironclad: Battle for blood,’ English said, “I wanted to do a gritty, pseudo-realistic, medieval action movie, a movie in the style of ‘The Warlords,’ ‘El Cid’ and ‘The Vikings.’ There were a lot of those action-adventure movies made in the late ’60s and I really loved them-a medieval ‘Magnificent Seven’ in which a group of hardened men defend the castle. I wanted to show what that was really like. I wanted to create something special.”

XLrator Media has released the following synopsis for ‘Ironclad: Battle for Blood’:

Steel yourself for another brutal battle, as one of the few survivors of the Great Siege of Rochester Castle fights to protect his family’s estate from fierce Celtic raiders. With a new battleground and a new enemy, Ironclad: Battle for Blood delivers the same ferocious, adrenaline-filled action that defined Ironclad. Tom Austen (The Borgias) and Michelle Fairley (Game of Thrones) star in this exciting new adventure from the director, writers and producers of the original Ironclad.
