Sinister 2 to Showcase More Murder with Official Release Date

‘Sinister 2,’ the anticipated sequel to the 2012 hit horror film, ‘Sinister,’ is set to showcase more murder and mayhem when it hits theaters nationwide on August 21, 2015. The follow-up to the micro-budget acclaimed film will be distributed by Focus Features.

Scott Derrickson, who helmed and co-wrote ‘Sinister,’ once again served as a co-scribe on the latest installment of the franchise with C. Robert Cargill. Ciaran Foy, who penned and directed the 2012 horror film, ‘Citadel,’ has taken on the directorial duties for ‘Sinister 2.’

The new film is being produced by eOne and Blumhouse Productions, which also served as one of the production companies on the original film. eOne is financing the film with Jason Blum through his Blumhouse banner, and Derrickson will also serve as a producer.
