Daryl is one of the most popular characters on AMC’s “The Walking Dead.” Also, fans have gotten into huge arguments about whether Daryl has a thing for Michonne or if he’s actually in love with Beth. But it could be very possible that everyone’s wrong.
A new theory has revealed that Daryl is possibly gay. ComicBook.com states that a question about Daryl’s sexuality was asked in the letter writing column of “The Walking Dead #130.” The comic’s creator, Robert Kirkman, has responded to the question saying it’s not out of the cards.
“All I can say is that it’s been discussed,” stated Kirkman. “We have very specific ideas about Daryl’s sexuality (or the seeming lack thereof), and if there’s ever a quiet period in the show where he’s not consistently distracted by crossbowing…we’ll tackle it in the show.”
Also, according to Kirkman, AMC would be totally fine with Daryl being gay. “For the record, they absolutely would,” he said, as written by CinemaBlend.
Frankly, his sexuality shouldn’t be a big issue–we get to see Glenn and Maggie’s relationship on full display and we were even privy to the Governor’s final fling before he started the melee at the prison. If Daryl is gay, I would hope that fans wouldn’t think that he’s somehow less of an awesome zombie-killer, since zombie killing is what’s really important in the world of “The Walking Dead.”
