So what did you think about that new episode of “The Simpsons”? The big news of this season was, aside from the “Family Guy”/”Simpsons” crossover event, that a big death of one of the characters would occur.

People probably expected someone like one of the Simpsons family members to die or one of the popular Springfield citizens, like Moe the bartender. But it turns out that the death wasn’t really of a major character at all. In case you haven’t seen the episode, named “Clown in the Dumps,” and you don’t want the death to be spoiled for you, leave this post now.

If you’ve stayed around, then you want to know who it actually was that bit the bullet. The killed-off character was Krusty the Clown’s dad, Rabbi Hyman Krustofksy, who is voiced by Jackie Mason. Of course, it’s probably sad that Krusty’s dad died, but the build-up made it seem like there would be some greater consequences.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, fans on Twitter expressed their irritation at the much-publicized death, citing their disappointment that the death didn’t live up to the hype.

If you saw the episode, what did you think about it? Were you bummed by the death in general or by the death being hyped? Give your opinions in the comments section below.
