One of the breakout Lego stars from “The Lego Movie” is Will Arnett’s jerk iteration of Batman. This Batman isn’t as heroic as the Batman we know. This Batman reveled in being a rich, emo, privileged “superhero” who often treated his then-girlfriend Wyldstyle (Elizabeth Banks) badly. However, there was a lot about this character that could have been explored but wasn’t. Fortunately for us, we’ll get to see more of Batman in his own movie.

The Hollywood Reporter is stating that a Batman Lego movie is on the fast track towards your local movie theater. Chris McKay is now at the head of the film, which is being written by Seth Grahame-Smith, best known for his book (and subsequent film) “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.” Warner Bros. is hoping to have the film ready by 2017.

Of course, Arnett will return to voice Batman. The folks behind “The Lego Movie,” Phil Lord, Dan Lin, Christopher Miller and Roy Lee are acting as producers.

This film is one of the many Lego films in production, thanks to the success of “The Lego Movie.” The sequel to “The Lego Movie” will probably be released by 2017, while “Ninjago” will be released Sept. 23, 2016.
