At this year’s Mipcom, one of the biggest entertainment conferences held every year in Cannes, the Personality of the Year was Simon Cowell. During his keynote speech, he vowed to bring “The X Factor” back to American soil.

According to Variety, Cowell states that “The X Factor,” which was a hit in its native UK but was cancelled by Fox after three seasons, wasn’t given a chance by himself and Fox. “I believe that I and Fox gave up too early on ‘X Factor,” he said. “I do know because I’m the music business that ‘X Factor’ is the best music format in the world and it only takes one artist, a Susan Boyle, or a One Director for the whole thing to turn on its head. So I’ll be the one to bring ‘X Factor’ back to America.”

When it was on, “The X Factor” had stiff competition against Cowell’s former place of work, “American Idol” and NBC’s “The Voice,” a show that Cowell stated was part of what affected “X Factor.” But if “The X Factor” is able to come back to America, how will it be revamped to compete in this post “Voice” world?

What do you think about “The X Factor” and its potential to come back? If it does come back, will you watch? Give your opinions in the comments section below!
