The search for the right director for “Wonder Woman” has ended! It was announced recently that the director for the Gal Gadot-starring film had been found and the Wonder Woman fans everywhere have been pleased with DC’s choice.

Michelle MacLaren has been tapped to direct Gadot as she fights bad guys and saves the world. USA Today, who confirmed the news from The Hollywood Reporter, states that MacLaren is the proud owner of two Emmys and is known for her work on cult hit television episodes like “The Walking Dead,” “Breaking Bad,” “Game of Trhones” and ’90s cult hit “The X-Files.”

MacLaren is the only second female director chosen to helm a popular comic book film, states USA Today, but what a sad statistic. Let’s hope more women directors will be chosen to direct superhero films in the future.

Details for “Wonder Woman” are scarce; one would say they are non-existent. No other cast members for “Wonder Woman” have been announced and no other plot details are known except for what everyone knows from DC mythology–that an Amazon warrior comes to the Man’s world and becomes one of its lauded saviors.

“Wonder Woman” will come to theaters sometime in 2017. Will you go see the film and support women filmmakers? Give your opinions in the comments section below.
