England has a storied and rich heritage, but some of the buildings that are a part of that heritage need a little helping hand in order to keep them in pristine condition. That’s where “Restoring England’s Heritage” comes in. This show, airing on BBC Two Jan. 3, 2015, will focus on the selection process that occurs when several of England’s historic buildings are up for restoration. Here’s more on the program:

“Chris Jackson investigates how decisions are made about which historic building to preserve, taking a look at Gayle Mill in Wensleydale, which was a finalist in the BBC’s Restoration programme in 2004, to learn what can be done to bring history back to life. He also assess plans for Dunston Staithes in Gateshead, The Old Station Goods Yard in Hexham, the Union Bridge in Horncliffe, and Kirklinton Hall in Cumbria.”
