“Tootsie,” the 1982 beloved classic starring Dustin Hoffman as a struggling actor who becomes America’s favorite soap opera diva, has been named the best film of all time in a new Time Out New York poll.

The magazine has put out their list of the top 100 best films, and they declared “Tootsie” to be the best film ever made. “We had a tall request, ranking the best movies of all time, and it was an honor receiving the input of so many esteemed actors—many of whom have classics on their own resumes,” said Joshua Rothkopf, the film editor for Time Out New York. “I’m thrilled with the way this list has turned out. A modern-day classic like Tootsie points to virtues like humor, speed, sympathy, justice and heart, the priorities of actors and viewers alike. I’d love to see the canon evolve in this direction.”

The poll included the input of some of the biggest Hollywood and international stars working today, including Bill Hader, Juliette Binoche, Andy Serkis, Haley Joel Osment, Cillian Murphy, Anthony Mackie, Lili Taylor, Brie Larson, Michael Sheen and Zoe Kazan.

Other films that rounded out the top five include “The Godfather,” “A Woman Under the Influence,” “Cinema Paradiso” and “To Kill a Mockingbird.”
