Children and their dogs often share an unbreakable bond that withstands the struggles of any conflict. That’s certainly the case in the new family film, ‘A Doggone Christmas,’ which follows the title character as he instantly bonds with two young brothers while he tries to evade the government. In honor of the comedy’s recent North American distribution on DVD and VOD by Vision Films, Shockya is premiering an exclusive new clip from the movie.
‘A Doggone Christmas’ marks the feature film debut of the Jack Russell Terrier named “Just Jesse the Jack,” who has become an internet sensation, as he has garnered over 17 million views on his web channel. The comedy is also serving as the initial entry of a new movie trilogy that will feature Just Jesse the Jack in a leading role. The next installment, which is titled ‘A Doggone Hollywood,’ is currently in post-production, and the concluding entry, which has been named ‘A Doggone Mystery,’ in currently in development. Both follow-up films are set to be released next year.
In ‘A Doggone Christmas,’ Jesse plays Murphy, a puppy with telepathic abilities, who has escaped a government facility and run straight into the loving arms of two young brothers. But Washington leaders won’t give up their secret weapon that easily. With a no-nonsense special forces agent hot on the trail, the boys and their school friends must hide the canine from helicopters and drones, as well as their mom and dad, who have forbidden them to have a pet. Can these unexpected heroic kids, armed with only their wits, their bikes and a strong bond with this special dog, save the day?
In addition to “Just Jesse the Jack,” ‘A Doggone Christmas’ stars Dominique Swain (‘Alpha Dog,’Magik’), Rib Hillis (‘General Hospital’), Lauren Parkinson (‘Avengers Grimm’) and Paul Logan (‘Sniper: Special Ops’). The comedy also features such child stars as Jolie Ledford, Walker Mintz, Jonathan Tysor, Jayden Hedden and Dilan Patton. The film was directed by Jim Wynorski and produced by Team5Films.
While discussing the experience of working on ‘A Doggone Christmas,’ Vision Films’ Managing Director and CEO, Lise Romanoff, stated: “I had an opportunity to meet Jesse on the movie set. I have to admit that I immediately became completely starstruck. What a thrill it is for us to be releasing this film.”
