Robert Redford and Jane Fonda are finding comfort in each other’s company in the first look image from their latest collaboration, the 2017 Netflix original film, ‘Our Souls at Night.’ The drama reunites the Academy Award winners after they previously starred together in such films as the 1966 crime drama thriller, ‘The Chase,’ and the 1967 romantic comedy, ‘Barefoot in the Park.’

‘Our Souls at Night’ is based on the 2015 novel of same name by Kent Haruf, and was adapted for the screen by ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ scribes, Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber. The drama was directed by ‘The Lunchbox’ helmer, Ritesh Batra. In addition to Redford and Fonda, the film also stars Bruce Dern, Judy Greer, Matthias Schoenaerts and Iain Armitage, who play the grandson of the lead actress’ character.

The following synopsis for ‘Our Souls at Night’ has been released by Netflix:

‘Our Souls at Night’ is set in Colorado and begins when Addie Moore (Jane Fonda) pays an unexpected visit to a neighbor, Louis Waters (Robert Redford). Her husband died years ago, as did his wife, and in such a small town they’d been neighbors for decades, but had little contact. Their children live far away and they are all alone in their big houses. She seeks to establish a connection, and make the most of the rest of the time they have.
