The Limehouse Golem
RLJ Entertainment’s acquisition of “The Limehouse Golem.”

“Even madness has it’s own logic.” “The Limehouse Golem” was one of the film selected for the Toronto International Film Festival in 2016. It was recently acquired by RLJ Entertainment for distribution in theaters for later this year. Based on the novel “Dan Leno and the Limehouse Golem” by Peter Ackroyd, the new movie stars Bill Nighy, Olivia Cooke, Douglas Booth, Daniel Mays, and Eddie Marsan. Written by Jane Goldman (Kingsman: The Secret Service). Directed by Juan Carlos Medina.

“We’re honored to work with such a talented cast and renowned filmmakers to bring “The Limehouse Golem” to audiences,” said Mark Ward, RLJE’s Chief Acquisitions Officer in a press release. “The film’s “whodunit” plot engages moviegoers to take a thrilling ride with the film’s cast.”

I’m a fan of Bill Nighy and Olivia Cooke, so I’m very curious about this movie. It was actually released in the UK in late 2016 and it’s going to be making its way to the US in a few months. And from what I can tell from the UK trailer, “The Limehouse Golem” is going to be a rip-roaring thriller!

Read the synopsis below:

“The city of London is gripped with fear as a serial killer – dubbed The Limehouse Golem – is on the loose and leaving cryptic messages written in his victim’s blood. With few leads and increasing public pressure, Scotland Yard assigns the case to Inspector Kildare (Bill Nighy) – a seasoned detective with a troubled past and a sneaking suspicion he’s being set up to fail. Faced with a long list of suspects, including music hall star Dan Leno (Douglas Booth), Kildare must get help from a witness who has legal troubles of her own (Olivia Cooke), so he can stop the murders and bring the killer to justice.”

“The Limehouse Golem” hits theaters and VOD on September 8.
