Emphasizing the increasingly tense interactions between strong and complicated characters in a nuanced way is vital in the creation of both emotional and physical scares. That edgy conflict between two strong characters is progressively and harrowingly building in the recently recently first official clip from the upcoming horror film, ‘Midnighters.’

The video was unveiled by the thriller’s production company, Graystone Pictures, to help support the movie’s World Premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival last night at the ArcLight Culver City. The gripping clip from ‘Midnighters’ features lead actress, Alex Essoe, as she gallantly tries to defend herself from an overly eager and inquisitive detective, who’s played by Ward Horton.

The drama marks the feature film directorial and producing debuts of ‘The Walking Dead’ helmer, Julius Ramsay. ‘Midnighters’ was written by Alston Ramsay, and in addition to Essoe and Horton, also stars Perla Haney-Jardine and Dylan McTee.

Graystone Pictures has released the following synopsis for ‘Midnighters’:

On New Year’s Eve, all the hopes of new beginnings come to life – except for Lindsey and Jeff Pittman (Essoe and McTee), whose strained marriage faces the ultimate test after they cover up a terrible crime and find themselves entangled in a Hitchcockian web of deceit and madness. The layered and enigmatic thriller is set in the Gothic backwoods of New England, the perfect place to get away with murder.

Shockya had the pleasure of speaking with Horton about ‘Midnighters’ recently, in anticipation of the horror movie’s premiere at the Los Angeles Film Festival. Read the interview here.
