Filmmaker Alexander Nevsky and actress Kristanna Loken have signed up to help the LAPD solve a series of gruesome murders in their recent action-thriller, ‘Black Rose.’ In honor of the crime drama premiering on Netflix this weekend, Shockya is premiering two new exclusive photos from the movie.

Black Rose‘s debut on the online streaming service comes after it was released in theaters and on DVD and VOD on May 2 by ITN Distribution, eOne and Sony. The film also became available on Redbox on May 23.

‘Black Rose’ was written by Brent Huff (‘Chasing Beauty’) and George Saunders (‘The Hunt for Red October’). In addition to Nevsky and Loken, the action-thriller also stars Adrian Paul, Robert Davi and Matthias Hues.

Nevsky’s feature film directorial debut follows his character, Vladimir Kazatov, a Russian police major who’s enlisted by the LAPD to help solve a series of gruesome murders. The crimes are being perpetrated against young women by a sadistic killer on the mean streets of Hollywood.

In addition to starring in and helming ‘Black Rose,’ Nevsky also produced the drama through his production company, Hollywood Storm. The movie was executive produced by Sheldon Lettich and Robert Madrid.

‘Black Rose’ proved to be a theatrical box office hit in Russia. CIS, which holds the film’s foreign sales rights, has sold the action thriller to 22 countries.
