Nothing will unify a couple that needs to rekindle their love more than their fight for survival during a tense and life-altering weekend. That reconnection process was clearly evident when the new thriller, ‘Killing Ground,’ held its Los Angeles premiere on Tuesday night at Franklin Canyon Park in Beverly Hills.

Those who attended the premiere from the movie included first-time feature film writer-director, Damien Power, as well as cast members Harriet Dyer and Aaron Glenane. The filmmaker and actors were joined by such special guests as Zoë Bell (‘Camino,’ ‘The Hateful Eight‘), Georgina Haig (‘The Mule,’ ‘Once Upon a Time’), producer Adrienne Biddle (‘The Monster,’ ‘The Blackcoat’s Daughter‘), director Mike Mendez (‘Big Ass Spider!,’ ‘Tales of Halloween‘) and filmmaker Axelle Carolyn (‘Tales of Halloween,’ ‘Soulmate’).

The film’s LA premiere included a reception that preceded the outdoor screening. The event was held in honor of the drama being released into select theaters and On Demand next Friday, July 21, by IFC Midnight. The distribution comes after ‘Killing Ground‘ had its world premiere during this past January’s Sundance Film Festival, and then played at the inaugural Overlook Film Festival in April. In addition to Dyer and Glenane, the thriler stars Australian actors Aaron Pedersen and Ian Meadows.

IFC Midnight has released the following synopsis for ‘Killing Ground‘:

A couple’s romantic camping trip becomes a desperate fight for survival in this ultra-raw, unhinged kill ride. In need of a break from the pressures of their life in the city, Sam (Dyer) and Ian (Meadows) head to a remote beach for a weekend getaway. When they come across an abandoned campsite, with no trace of its occupants, they’re concerned. When they discover a lone, traumatized child nearby, they’re scared. When they encounter two local weirdos, they’re in for a hell of a bad time. Unfolding in an innovative, time-scrambling structure, ‘Killing Ground’ delivers both nerve-shredding suspense and gut-punching realism.
