A menacing presence took over Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! Times Square Odditorium last night. That paranormal habitation was felt by Shockya, as we were generously given the opportunity to to attend a press preview of the supernatural invasion of the popular New York City-based museum.

A group of 13 Annabelle dolls from New Line Cinema‘s upcoming horror prequel, ‘Annabelle: Creation,’ which were created by the award winning Mezco Toyz, took over the popular 42nd Street landmark, which is the largest Ripley’s museum attraction in North America. The Annabelles attempted to hide amongst the Odditorium’s collection of over 500 unusual artifacts from all over the world, as well as within its unique interactive exhibits.

All visitors who attended the scavenger hunt at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! in Times Square yesterday received a special map of the museum. Those who located all 13 of Annabelle’s hiding places throughout the Odditourium received ‘Annabelle: Creation’ prizes from New Line Cinemas and Warner Brothers, including tickets to attend a preview screening of the supernatural drama. Visitors were also given the opportunity to pose for photos with the demon who possesses Annabelle. Participants also received gifts from from Mezco Toyz, which is the only authorized producer of Annabelle prop replica dolls.

‘Lights Out’ helmer David F. Sandberg directed the second installment in the ‘Annabelle’ franchise. New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Pictures are set to distribute ‘Annabelle: Creation‘ in theaters this Friday, August 11. The thriller stars Stephanie Sigman, Talitha Bateman, Lulu Wilson, Philippa Coulthard, Grace Fulton, Lou Lou Safran, Samara Lee, Anthony LaPaglia, Miranda Otto and Tayler Buck in her feature film debut.

The origins story to the hit 2014 horror movie, ‘Annabelle,’ was penned by Gary Dauberman, who also wrote the original drama. Like its predecessor and the two ‘The Conjuring’ films that inspired the ‘Annabelle’ spin-offs, Peter Safran and James Wan served as producers.

Annabelle: Creation‘ is set several years after the tragic death of a young girl. Her father, who works as a dollmaker, and his wife decide to welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home. But the group soon becomes the target of the dollmaker’s possessed creation, Annabelle.
