Magic often arises between the rarest and most special allies. That’s proving to be true in the newly released trailer from the upcoming fantasy sequel, ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.’ The trailer was unveiled yesterday during the film’s panel in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con.

Returning stars from the ‘Fantastic Beasts’ series, including Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne, Dan Fogler, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol and Ezra Miller, were all on hand at the panel. They were joined by such franchise newcomers as Jude Law, Zoe Kravitz, Claudia Kim and Callum Turner. The adventure movie also features William Nadylam, Kevin Guthrie, Carmen Ejogo, Poppy Corby-Tuech and Johnny Depp.

‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’ was directed by David Yates. It was written by Wizarding World creator, J.K. Rowling, who also served as a producer on the drama. The film is the second of five all new adventures in Rowling’s media franchise, which is based on the writer’s ‘Harry Potter’ novels.

The follow-up to 2016’s ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ is slated for release on November 16. The movie will be distributed worldwide in 2D and 3D in select theaters and IMAX by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Warner Bros. Pictures has released the following synopsis for ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’:

At the end of the first film, the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Depp) was captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), with the help of Newt Scamander (Redmayne). But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about gathering followers, who are most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings.

In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore (Law) enlists his former student, Newt, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world.
