Examining dating culture in the age of swiping can be both a heartbreaking and exhilarating experience for anyone. Actress Megan Guinan’s character of Melissa in the upcoming romantic comedy, ‘The Browsing Effect,’ is one such person who’s struggling to overcome her self-doubt in the world of dating. The seemingly endless possibilities of dating apps send Melissa and her group of friends into a whirlwind of sex, jealousy and self-doubt as they venture into new romantic relationships.
Gravitas Ventures is set to distribute ‘The Browsing Effect’ next Tuesday, April 9, On Demand and digital, including iTunes. In honor of the film’s release, ShockYa is premiering an exclusive clip, which is titled ‘I Did Sign Up for Tinder.’ In the clip, Melissa informs her friends, Rachel and Lawrence (who are played by Nikki SooHoo and Larry Powell, respectively), that she has joined the social app. She admits that she has been regularly messaging someone, but she isn’t ready to met him in real life yet. Her friends encourage her to pursue something with him, even though she insists the time isn’t right.
‘The Browsing Effect’ was written and directed by Michael K. Feinstein (‘Match from the Past’), who also stars in the movie. In addition to Feinstein, Guinan, Soohoo and Powell, the comedy also stars Josh Margolin, Drew Fonteiro and Gabriela Lopez.
