Bekmabetov Confirms That Wanted 2 Is In Works

Superhero Hype is reporting that Timur Bekmabetov has confirmed that the tentatively-titled “Wanted 2″ is in the works, a follow-up to last summer’s adaptation of “Wanted”, the cult comic book by Mark Millar.
Bekmabetov told “RIA Novosti”, a Russian news site, that “In July we will start preparation for the film. I think in the late autumn or winter shooting will be performed. Warner Bros. and producer Dan Lin are reportedly planning to reboot the “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider” film franchise that spun off from the 1996 Eidos video game franchise starring action hero and archaeologist Lara Croft, the English noblewoman who battles legendary and supernatural forces, pirates, traps and puzzles, and more, as she searches the globe for various treasures and other historical artifacts.
Lin will produce the new film through his Lin Pictures banner alongside producer Stephen Gilchrist, reimagining the origins of the character as well as introducing the main villain.

Comic book writer Mark Millar (”Wanted”, “The Ultimates”) is speaking out about the decision to have screenwriter Evan Spiliotopoulos attached to Universal’s “Wanted 2″, which will be based on a story by Chris Morgan.
Millar specifically mentioned on his website’s message board the Spiliotopoulos’s credit as co-writer of “Pooh’s Heffalump Movie” and the straight-to-DVD spin-off in the Winnie The Pooh franchise. He said;

Warner Bros Announces Return Of Tomb Raider

Warner Bros. is in early development on a “Tomb Raider” reboot, according to a report from Superhero Hype.
Paramount previously made the two movies based on the game, but the rights have since reverted to game makers Eidos. When Time Warner upped its stake to 19.92% in Eidos in December, films rights to the property were included as part of the deal.
Dan Lin will produce the project via his Lin Pictures while Stephen Gilchrist will co-produce; Ian Livingstone of Eidos will executive produce. According to sci-fi site io9.com, Megan Fox has officially denied being the next Lara Croft for any future “Tomb Raider” film projects, despite rumors to the contrary.
LatinoReview.com first reported the rumor, which also included some details about the possibility of the 3rd “Tomb Raider” movie. However, a spokesperson for Fox “She’s not involved in the movie at all.”
