Karen Benardello
Karen Benardello graduated from the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University in May 2008 with a Bachelor of Fine Art (B.F.A.) in journalism, print and electronic. She has been freelancing for numerous websites and blogs since then, and her primary interests include entertainment writing, particularly reviewing movies/CD’s/concerts/plays and interviewing actors, directors, musicians and anyone and everyone else involved in the business.
Karen has been writing for Shockya since before she graduated from college, having started during the summer of 2007. She has critiqued numerous movies for the website, including ’1408,’ ‘I Know Who Killed Me,’ ‘Mirrors,’ ‘Quarantine,’ ‘The Unborn,’ and ‘Drag Me To Hell.’ Karen has also attended screenings in New York City for Shockya, including those for ‘Humpday’ and ‘Daybreakers,’ and later reviewed the two. She also meet and interviewed Ethan Hawke, Willem Dafoe and writers/directors the Spiering Brothers about ‘Daybreakers.’ Karen also reviewed a Spill Canvas concert in 2008 when they performed at the Fillmore at Irving Plaza in New York, and interviewed the drummer, Joe Beck. She is currently writing a television and movie news blog for Shockya.
