We’ve got just over a month to go until that 90-minute season two premiere of The Walking Dead, so, in the meantime, how about a look at the making of the show, those gruesome zombie eyes to be exact? AMC has just released a new video called “Inside The Walking Dead: Zombie Eyes” that features Gazal Tabrizpor, the show’s contact lens tech. Yes, the show has a contact lens tech and, as a contact lens wearer myself, it’s actually nice to hear as they can require a great deal of care. However, these aren’t your average corrective lenses we’re talking about here. The hero zombie contact lenses are highly detailed  [ Read More ]

Hillbillies have a bad rap, largely due to the film industry. How many times have we seen a group of unsuspecting college students drive out to the middle of nowhere, have their car break down and ask a local for help, only to meet their demise? Well, writer-director Eli Craig is here to shake that stereotype up a bit with his new film Tucker & Dale vs Evil. Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine star as Tucker and Dale, respectively. The duo opts to head out into the woods to spend some time at their new vacation cabin and fix the place up a bit. One thing leads to another, and  [ Read More ]

The Woman In Black Trailer Released

Posted by monique On August - 18 - 2011 0 Comment

A few days ago, ShockYa posted the first look at Daniel Radcliffe’s thriller “The Woman In Black.” Now, Yahoo! Movies has released the trailer of the film. And it’s creepy, complete with prerequisite scary children, creepy dolls (I’m not sure which are creepier: the moldy porcelain dolls, the clowns, or the monkeys), and the scary window shot. You can check out the trailer here as well as below this post. On the whole, the film looks like it’s going to be genuinely disturbing. Kinda weird that it’s coming out in Feburary, a month which is deemed by movie-makers and movie-goers as a month where sub-par movies go to die, because  [ Read More ]

How many horror movies have you seen where the hot young college kids drive out into the middle of nowhere for some boozing, only to be stalked and ultimately hacked to death by hillbillies? Well, Eli Craig is here to turn the murderous hick stereotype on its head with the horror comedy Tucker & Dale vs Evil. Tucker and Dale (Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine) are redneck buddies hanging out in their ramshackle vacation house in the mountains. When a group of preppy college kids arrive for a getaway of their own, misconceptions and misunderstanding get the better of them and they suspect Tucker and Dale kidnapped one of their  [ Read More ]

There’s a reason filmmakers are churning out found footage films; they’ve got an inherent draw. Writer-producer Ryan McCoy is the latest to jump on the bandwagon with his film Evidence, a piece that follows four people into the canyons near LA. There’s no witch, rabid virus or ghosts here, rather a mysterious creature wreaking havoc on their home movie. The film’s trailer is up and running and not only proves the sub-genre’s got some juice left in it, but that McCoy knows how to work with the format and director Howie Askins has got the eye to bring McCoy’s script to life. On top of that, the guys must have  [ Read More ]

SDCC 2011: Interview With Warm Bodies Author Isaac Marion

Posted by Perri Nemiroff On July - 25 - 2011 0 Comment

A zombie story can be autobiographic, right? Okay, not exactly, but real life inspiration did help author Isaac Marion develop his book Warm Zombies to an extent. Marion joined Summit Entertainment at San Diego Comic Con, as the studio has snatched up his pieces to bring it to the big screen. In fact, the lead roles have already been cast. Nicholas Hoult will star as R, a zombie who’s a little more alert than his moaning and mindless counterparts. Teresa Palmer will step in as Julie, a living and breathing human who winds up crossing paths with R, becoming his friend rather than his next meal. Warm Bodies features a  [ Read More ]
