We’ve also got some rather glamorous casting news to report – Naomi Watts assuming the role of Princess Diana and Angelina Jolie officially taking on Maleficent. Isn’t it great that this season of The Walking Dead is 13 episodes and not just six? Rather than waiting nearly a year for the show’s return, The Walking Dead is coming back for six more episodes beginning on February 12th. To get us back in the Walking Dead frame of mind before episode eight, “Nebraska,” airs on Sunday the 12th, AMC launched the Left Behind Facebook application. Connect the application to your Facebook account, give it the okay to use your web cam, and you can see what happens when you escape from prison Walking Dead style. Perhaps my experience would have felt more authentic if my Facebook picture  [ Read More ]

Title: The Woman in Black Director: James Watkins (‘Eden’s Lake’) Starring: Daniel Radcliffe, Liz White (‘Wild Bill’), Alisha Khazanova (‘Heart’s Boomerang’) and Ciaran Hinds (‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows-Part 2′) Creating an effective horror movie that features an in-depth plot-line and detailed character backgrounds, frightening physical and emotional scares and visually stunning sets can be a monumental challenge for many directors, as they may not have the time and/or resources to include all of these important elements. ‘The Woman in Black,’ the new horror-thriller starring Daniel Radcliffe in his first film after finishing the ‘Harry Potter’ series, unfortunately fails to embody these important aspects. While the film does feature  [ Read More ]

The Innkeepers Movie Review

Title: The Innkeepers Directed By: Ti West Starring: Sara Paxton, Pat Healy, Kelly McGillis, George Riddle, Alison Bartlett, Lena Dunham, Jake Ryan, John Speredakos Sick of all the same old tricks in the horror genre? Well, get ready because The Innkeepers uses them all. Eerie tracking shots, spooky noises and an unoriginal story, but, oddly enough, writer-director Ti West manages to put enough of his authorial expressivity on the piece to deliver something that may not feel fresh, but is still refreshingly nostalgic. It’s the Yankee Pedlar Inn’s last days in business and Claire and Luke (Sara Paxton and Pat Healy) are the only two employees left, assigned to keep  [ Read More ]

Consider me, Monique Jones, a novice when it comes to horror. I honestly didn’t know what I was expecting when I started watching the uncut version “The Human Centipede 2: Full Sequence” during the live chat event on Facebook, but now, after having seen the film for myself (well, most of it before I had to turn away due to my gag reflex), I can see why this film was banned in the UK. The “mastermind,” if you will, behind this film as well as its predecessor is Tom Six. Six chatted with fans during the screening of the uncut film, and not only answered some questions about the making  [ Read More ]

Title: The Woman Director: Lucky McKee (‘The Woods’) Starring: Sean Bridgers (TV’s ‘Deadwood’), Pollyanna McIntosh (‘Offspring’), Angela Bettis (‘Girl, Interrupted,’ TV’s ‘Carrie’) and Lauren Ashley Carter (‘The Prodigies’) People often think their actions benefit everyone, and don’t always think about the consequences will negatively affect those around them. This is one of the main themes in the new horror film ‘The Woman,’ which is now available on DVD. The movie’s director and co-writer, Lucky McKee, bravely showcased the evil and conniving acts of violence seemingly upstanding people take in the privacy of their own home.
