The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Julian McMahon, Ernest Borgnine, Richard Dreyfuss and Brian Cox are all in talks to finalize their joining the cast of “Red”, the adaptation of the action espionage comic book by renowned author Warren Ellis and artist Cully Hamner.
“Red” is about a retired special ops hitman, played by Willis, who goes on the warpath when sis existence is ordered to be covered up by the shadowy government forces he once worked for. It was originally a three-issues series from Homage Comics, an imprint of Wildstorm/DC.

According to Production Weekly, the highly-anticipated “Thor” film from Marvel Entertainment will start filming this January, starting in LA before moving to Santa Fe, NM.
The film stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman, Stellan Skarsgard, Jaimie Alexander, and Colm Feore. “Thor” is about the Norse god of thunder cast to Earth to learn humility. He takes the form of the crippled Dr. Donald Blake, who can become Thor when he strikes his walking stick against the ground. He learns what it really means to be a hero as a dark force rises against him and his home of Asgard.

The Hollywood Reporter.com is reporting that Dante Harper has been attached to work on the script for the action/horror project “Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters.”
Tommy Wirkola, who directed and co-wrote the Nazi zombie horror comedy “Dead Snow” is directing the project for both Paramount and Gary Sanchez Productions. The film will be about the classic fairy tale siblings after their gingerbread house experience, which inspires them to become a witch-hunting duo.
Gary Sanchez’s Kevin Messick, Adam McKay, Will Ferrell and Chris Henchy are producing the project.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Harvey Keitel has joined the cast of Universal and Tribeca Production’s tentatively-named “Little Fockers”, the latest “Meet the Fockers” sequel.
The film, the latest in the “Meet The Parents” franchise, stars series regulars Ben Stiller, Teri Polo, Robert De Niro, Owen Wilson, and Blythe Danner, as well as newcomers Jessica Alba, and Laura Dern. Keitel is slated to play a contractor hired by Ben Stiller’s character. This would be the third “Parents” movie, after 2000’s “Meet The Parents” and 2004’s “Meet The Fockers”.
Paul Weitz (”In Good Company”) is directing the film.

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Sony has picked up the rights to remake “Fathers And Guns”, the French-Canadian hit action/comedy film
The project is being developed and produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall. Emile Gaudreault, the writer and director of the original, as well as Denise Robert, the original’s producer, are also onboard to produce.
“Fathers And Guns” is about a father and son who both are cops, but cannot stand each other. Unfortunatley, in the action-comedy, the two end up assigned to infiltrate an outdoor father and son-oriented group therapy camp.

Variety.com is reporting that Cecile de France (”High Tension”) has been attached to star opposite Matt Damon in Clint Eastwood’s “Hereafter”, his upcoming supernatural drama for Warner Bros.
Written by Peter Morgan, “Hereafter” is about three different people who are all touched by death and affected in different ways by their experiences.
Principal photography began last month on “Hereafter.” The project is being produced by Eastwood, Kathleen Kennedy and Robert Lorenz, with Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall, Tim Moore, and Peter Morgan onboard as executive producers.
“Hereafter” is slated for a tentative December 2010 release.

According to a report by Heat Vision, Joel Silver and Akiva Goldsman are producing a big-screen adaptation of “Sgt. Rock”, the WW2 comic book from DC Comics. Francis Lawrence (”I Am Legend”, “Constantine”) is directing the project, based on a script by Chad St. John (”The Days Before”).
Andrew Rona of Silver Pictures is also onboard as a producer, and Kerry Foster is the project’s executive producer. Joel Silver has been trying to get the project off the ground for the past 20 years.
