The first official look at the Oliver Stone directed thriller ‘Savages’ has made its way online. Seen in the new image is Gossip Girls’ actress Blake Lively of ‘The Town’ fame looking frantic and disheveled as longtime actor Benicio Del Toro taunts her, blowing smoke in her face. In the film Del Toro plays the head of a drug cartel who has nabbed Lively’s character, the girlfriend of both pot dealers Ben, played by Aaron Johnson of ‘Kick Ass’, and Chon, portrayed by Taylor Kitsch of ‘Friday Night Lights’. Together Kitsch and Johnson will get caught up in a game of ransom after ignoring warnings from the local Mexican mafia….

Title: Albert Nobbs Director: Rodrigo Garcia (‘Things You Can Tell Just By Looking At Her,’ TV’s ‘In Treatment’) Starring: Glenn Close, Mia Wasikowska, Aaron Johnson (‘Kick-Ass,’ ‘Nowhere Boy’) and Janet McTeer (‘Tumbleweeds’) An actress remaining connected to a character she portrayed 30 years ago in a play that features a simplistic story is a rarity in Hollywood. But Glenn Close has done just that with her title role in her new film, ‘Albert Nobbs.’ Despite garnering mainstream attention in such films as ‘Fatal Attraction’ and ‘Dangerous Liaisons’ since she played Albert on stage, the Academy Award-nominated actress convincingly reentered the character’s mindset in the new drama. Viewers can also relate…

Aaron Johnson, who rose to fame in this spring’s hit action movie ‘Kick-Ass,’ is the forerunner to be cast as the title role in the upcoming ‘Jack the Giant Killer’. The news comes after Andrew Garfield, a relative unknown who recently gained recognition in the critical and box-office hit ‘The Social Network,’ had to turn down the part to appear in the ‘Spider Man’ reboot. Bryan Singer, who is directing ‘Jack the Giant Killer,’ decided to look at Johnson after he also portrayed a young John Lennon in the recent ‘Nowhere Boy.’ However, New Line, the studio behind the movie, is still looking at other young actors. But an official…

Title: Nowhere Boy Directed By: Sam Taylor-Wood Starring: Aaron Johnson, Kristin Scott Thomas, Anne-Marie Duff, Thomas Sangster, Sam Bell, David Morrisey, Ophelia Lovibond After The Runaways, the thought of another teen-centric music movie was wildly exciting. However, Nowhere Boy isn’t really about the making of The Beatles as The Runaways depicts the assembly of that band. In fact, for the majority of the film, music takes a backseat to family issues. Nowhere Boy may be devoid of the music video element that made The Runaways such a blast, but the drama that’s put in its place is just as effective. Back when John was a little boy, an incident forced…

Kick-Ass made a decent $96 million worldwide, but when it comes to the caliber of the film it deserves so much more. Lucky for all of you folks who missed it in the theaters, Kick-Ass is set to hit DVD and Blu-ray on Tuesday, August 3rd. In honor of the release, star Chloe Moretz took some time to chat about the film that transformed her from an up and coming actress into one of the industry’s most sought after young stars. She plays Mindy Macready, also known as Hit Girl. Her father, Damon, or Big Daddy, raised her to be the ruthless crime fighter she is today. Hit Girl and…

Class is beginning to assemble for the new Professor Xavier, James McAvoy. Sources all over the web have been pouring on the X-Men: First Class updates all of which sound promising, but none of which are official. First up is rumors that Aaron Johnson could go superhero on us again. Filmonic‘s got a photograph of Johnson hanging out with McAvoy and director Matthew Vaughn. Considering this image surfaced right after McAvoy’s casting was announced, it was inevitable that people would connect the dots. But, of course, that in no way proves anything. For all we know Vaughn, who directed Johnson in Kick-Ass, could be courting McAvoy for a role in…

After the whole Logan Lerman fiasco, we got a bit of a break from the Spider-Man reboot casting craze. Well, it’s time to get back to it because the latest list is all the rage and now, the LA Times is tacking on two more potentials, one of which is none other than Kick-Ass himself, Aaron Johnson. Makes sense, right? The guy did a fantastic job portraying a normal kid who suits up to fight crime; considering the only difference is that Peter Parker ends up with some real superpowers, playing Spider-Man should be no problem for Johnson. I’d love to be more enthusiastic about Johnson’s potential, but it turns out…

Up-and-coming actor Aaron Johnson shot to fame earlier this month after starring in the critical and fan favorite superhero movie ‘Kick-Ass.’ But People.com is reporting that the 19-year-old is garnering unwanted attention for his personal life, as he’s engaged to British artist Sam Taylor-Wood, who is 24 years older than he. Not only is Johnson engaged to his 43-year-old ‘Nowhere Boy’ director, whom he met on that set last year, but she is also seven months pregnant with his child. Taylor-Wood already has two other children, 13-year-old Angelica and 3-year-old Jessie, from her 11-year marriage to art dealer Jay Jopling. Though the two were engaged a few months after meeting…

Title: Kick-Ass Directed By: Matthew Vaughn Starring: Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz, Nicolas Cage, Christopher Mintz-Plasse Real superheroes are so overrated. Superman is super fast and strong, Batman’s smart and has a serious stash of cash and Spider-Man can scale walls and sling webs, but do any have the geeky innocence of Kick-Ass, a mouth as foul as Hit Girl, an equal affection for firearms and hot chocolate with extra marshmallows like Big Daddy or a Mohawk as out of control as Red Mist’s? Kick-Ass creates a connection between fan and hero like never before. There’s no supernatural prowess, just one average Joe showing another what he can do with a…
