Last weekend was rather crazy, due to the unexpected death of powerhouse singer, Whitney Houston. Cirque du Soleil has been invited to present an exclusive performance for the 84th Academy Awards by the ceremony’s telecast producers, Brian Grazer and Don Mischer. The unique, one-time-only performance will feature the largest Cirque cast ever assembled for a single event. More than 50 international performers from Cirque du Soleil productions around the world will appear in the Oscar event. Milla Jovovich has signed on to host the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Scientific and Technical Awards. The ceremony will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2012, at Beverly Hills’ Beverly Wilshire. It would seem that ABC has found a winning demographic in women. The current line-up of shows, including “Desperate Housewives,” “Pan Am,” “CougarTown,” “Revenge” and “Grey’s Anatomy,” rake in a good percentage of women viewers. Yes, ABC.com will offer even more wild and crazy spills and splashes with the web series “The Black and Blue Crew.” The Black and who? The Black and Blue crew is responsible for testing the Wipeout course before the contestants go at it. Essentially, the Black and Blues are test dummies – well, professional test dummies. This is the final episode of “Pan Am”‘s first season. It might be the last episode ever for the show, considering how the ratings have been really bad. But who knows–maybe it’ll come back. It seems to have a loyal fanbase, but so did “The Playboy Club” and better shows that that, like “Rubicon.” Anyway, the synopsis for this week’s episode is a good one, considering we get some good things happening for the often tortured Colette.
