It’s being reported in an exclusive story by The Hollywood Reporter that Alec Baldwin has dropped out of the film adaptation of “Rock of Ages”. “Rock of Ages” Director Adam Shankman had said March 5 that he had confirmation that Baldwin was going to appear in the film. “Based on info I got today, I’m gonna confirm Alec Baldwin as Dennis in ‘Rock of Ages’. Hollah,” he wrote on Twitter. The character Baldwin was set to play is Dennis Dupree, an ex-rocker and owner of The Bourbon Room, the nightclub at the heart of the film. Entertainment Weekly and MTV Movies Blog is reporting that Tom Cruise has secured the role of aging rock star Stacee Jaxx in the movie adaptation of the highly-successful, Tony-nominated Broadway show, “Rock of Ages.”Cruise’s involvement with the film dates back to October, when he was first being courted with the role.
