Daily Video: Sh*t Adele Says

Wednesday, February 8th, 2012

Lately, everyone’s been making “Shit [insert group here] Says” videos, ranging from white girls, black girls, Indian girls, girls in general, black mothers, web designers, yogis, vegans, hipsters, cats…the list goes on (you can actually view a list at Mashable). Popdust has decided to get in on the meme craze with their own “People Say” video. Since they’re a music/pop-culture based site, theirs features Adele. According to Popdust, Adele seems to say a lot of funny and outrageous things in her interviews and on her blog, so they’ve decided to feature some of the things Adele might say and turn it into a viral 2 minutes and 39 second video….

Interview: Walk Off The Earth Show No Signs Of Slowing Down

Tuesday, February 7th, 2012

The 21st Century has done away with A & R representatives and has replaced them with YouTube. While this statement might not become entirely true for a few more years, the music industry has frequently been relying on the video-sharing website to discover the rare talent that is overlooked. Thanks to Justin Bieber’s relentless Internet persistency, the music world has been infected with Bieber fever. Luckily, the high temperatures have subsided due to the latest YouTube breakout artist, Walk Off The Earth. The Burlington, Ontario based band’s cover of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used To Know” has gone viral with over 40 million views on YouTube. The quintet, which consists…

Adele had been going through a bit of a rough spot after having bleeding in her vocal chords. According to Entertainment Weekly and Los Angeles Times, a spokesman at the Massachusetts General Hospital said that the 23-year-old singer has had a successful laser microsurgery on her vocals in order to stop the hemorrhaging, which was occurring due to a benign polyp. “This condition is typically the result of unstable blood vessel in the vocal cord that can rupture,” said the spokesman, according to the Los Angeles Times. The spokesman went on to say that due to the advice of her doctor and voice therapist in the U.K. Adele came to…

Interview: D Generation Are Feeling The Love Again

Monday, October 3rd, 2011

Our parents know best is a saying that we have often grown up hearing, but neglected to absorb. We spent most of our teenage years fighting those wise words, but in our twenties now, we have come to terms that it is true. Listening to the music therapists within us, we credit the music of the past for opening up the doors to our parents. The bands of the past give us our music foundation, much like our parents’ knowledge builds our values. So, we give much thanks to The Beatles, Janis Joplin, Nirvana and Jimi Hendrix for setting us on the right path and to resurrecting groups like Jane’s…

Tola Has Risen To The Top

Saturday, September 10th, 2011

In some ways, we have been enjoying the direction the music world has taken since the start of the 21st Century. Growing up, we were often drawn to underground music due to the pop and emotionless tunes that cluttered the surface. As time passes, more and more “above ground artists” are beginning to appeal to us because they are expressing the 90s musical traits we once fell for, which mainly included aspects of the theatrical world. For example, with mainstream artists like Lady Gaga, Adele and Beyonce, you don’t just hear catchy choruses. Their tracks more notably include layers of emotion that are able to channel through to listeners. The…
