Celebrate The Walking Dead's Return With The Left Behind Facebook Application

Friday, February 3rd, 2012

Isn’t it great that this season of The Walking Dead is 13 episodes and not just six? Rather than waiting nearly a year for the show’s return, The Walking Dead is coming back for six more episodes beginning on February 12th. To get us back in the Walking Dead frame of mind before episode eight, “Nebraska,” airs on Sunday the 12th, AMC launched the Left Behind Facebook application. Connect the application to your Facebook account, give it the okay to use your web cam, and you can see what happens when you escape from prison Walking Dead style. Perhaps my experience would have felt more authentic if my Facebook picture…

EXCLUSIVE: Images From Hell On Wheels Episode 9

Friday, January 6th, 2012

You know what one of my favorite parts about AMC’s Hell on Wheels is? The show practically plowed right through the holidays. While I’m struggling to get back up to speed with everything else on my viewing schedule as the winter hiatus comes to a close, Hell on Wheels is as fresh in my mind as ever. Spoiler Alert And, that being said, what’s going to happen to Bohannon and Elam (Anson Mount and Common)? When episode 8, “Derailed,” came to a close, the duo had just watched Griggs (Ty Olsson) nail a young Indian boy with a bullet only to be ambushed by the rest of the boy’s war…

AMC's Hell On Wheels Renewed for Second Season

Tuesday, December 27th, 2011

AMC’s newest period series, the period Western ‘Hell On Wheels,’ has been renewed for a second season, Deadline is reporting. The show’s renewal marks the fifth out of the six original scripted series aired by the cable network to be renewed for a sophomore season. ‘Hell On Wheels,’ which was developed by Endemol USA and produced by Entertainment One and Nomadic Pictures, debuted with 4.4 million viewers in November. While ‘Hell On Wheels’ is AMC’s second-highest-rated series premiere, behind ‘The Walking Dead,’ in total viewers and in the 18-49 and 25-54 demographics, the western has slipped during its season. But it continuously draws in more than two million viewers in…

Exclusive: A Behind The Scenes Look At Hell On Wheels

Wednesday, December 7th, 2011

Whether you’re into the show or not, a behind the scenes look at AMC’s Hell on Wheels is particularly interesting. The show’s a contemporary Western about an ex-Confederate solider who winds up helping construct the Union Pacific Railroad’s first transcontinental railroad, so timely set pieces and costumes are abound. Executive producer and director David Von Ancken touches on one of the show’s prime assets, their ability to rent 15,000 acres and, as Von Ancken points out in the video, 15,000 is a ton of land. Director of photography Marvin Rush piggybacks on the comment, noting the endless horizon the piece of land offers, something that lends itself to the visuals…

Wow. What else is there to say about The Walking Dead season two thus far? The show’s ratings are through the roof and there’s really no denying that they’re well earned. The only problem? The midseason finale is tomorrow night and that means we’ve got nearly three months until the show returns. Might as well enjoy it while it lasts right? Well, AMC is helping us with the effort by showing off two new stills from tomorrow night’s episode, “Pretty Much Dead Already.” The first one features Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Hershel (Scott Wilson) having a one-on-one, chatting about the situation with the barn and the fate of Rick’s group…
