Simon Fuller, the creator of ‘American Idol,’ is suing the Fox Broadcasting Co. and Fremantle North America Inc. for not receiving an executive producing credit for the upcoming American edition of ‘The X-Factor,’ The Los Angeles Times is reporting. Fuller filed the lawsuit in California Superior Court, saying he was promised the producing credit alongside former ‘American Idol’ judge Simon Cowell, who’s set to star in the new reality singing competition. Fuller previously was involved in legal battles with Cowell in 2004, when the producer claimed the former judge of his British reality competition ‘Pop Idol’ ripped the show off. This will make the show’s 11th season, as well as Jackson’s 11th season as a judge on the show. The newly chosen winner sang his new single “I Love You This Big” after the announcement, which came after a record-breaking 122 million votes. In the rehearsals before tonight’s showing of “American Idol”, contestant Lauren Alaina injured her voice. The injury was addressed at the beginning of the “Idol” show. Access Hollywood is reporting that eyewitnesses at rehearsal noticed Alaina’s voice was strong on her first song, but she lost her voice during the second song and left the stage, crying, after the third song (that practice run didn’t go well, either).
