The All–American Rejects Welcome The New Year With A New Album

Thursday, December 22nd, 2011

With the New Year fast approaching, MTV should have one resolution for 2012, to bring back music videos. Yes, the “Teen Mom” and “16 & Pregnant” craze is probably much more of a concern to the network than airing the latest music videos, but MTV’s roots are wrapped in music and thus deserve to be nurtured, much like the babies in these programs. So, MTV jump on the ShockYa bandwagon and turn the music video decline upwards for 2012. What sparked this interest in a MTV switch was the news of a new album from The All-American Rejects, who have wooed audiences with their music videos for tracks, like “Dirty…

Alvin And The Chipmunks Chipwrecked

Movie Review Round-Up: Alvin And The Chipmunks: Chipwrecked

Tuesday, December 20th, 2011

For the longest, I thought “Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked” was a direct-to-DVD deal. Apparently, not. But, the fact that “Chipwrecked” made it to the theaters shows that making these CGI chipmunks must be getting cheaper and cheaper to create. According to Rotten Tomatoes, this children-only film starring Jason Lee, Justin Long, Jesse McCartney, Matthew Gray Gubler, Amy Poehler, Anna Faris and Christina Applegate has a measly 14% rating, and audiences, surprisingly, gave it a 66% fresh rating. Here’s what the critics had to say: “Flails about in search of a creative reason to exist.”–Nick Schager, Village Voice “You usually have to go to an Adam Sandler movie…to see something…

Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked Movie Review

Friday, December 16th, 2011

Title: Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked Director: Mike Mitchell Starring: Jason Lee, David Cross; and the voices of: Justin Long, Matthew Gray Gubler, Jesse McCartney, Amy Poehler, Anna Faris, Christina Applegate, Alan Tudyk Well, at least “Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked” was not a painful 87 minutes. In fact, after coming off the dreadful “Squeakquel” in 2009, this looked like an Oscar contender (hopefully a studio won’t take that out of context and place it in an on-air promo). The only change in the game-plan for the third installment in the franchise was bringing back Jason Lee to near full-time status. And while it is nice to have someone who…

 Saturday Night Live

TVLine Reviews Saturday Night Live's Halloween Episode

Monday, October 17th, 2011

Michael Slezak from TVLine has put out his review of the Halloween episode of “Saturday Night Live” starring Anna Faris and musical guest Drake, and from his estimation, the show was more trick than treat. According to Slezak, the best moments of the episode was the “Lord Wyndemere” sketch, starring Paul Brittain as the odd, Peter Pan-esque dandy who is as precious as he is creepy. The worst sketches being “Tell Him”, a “Grease”-esque skit where Faris and various female members of the cast sing bad advice about what to tell a boyfriend; “The Manuel Ortiz Show,” a show that’s meant to parody Television Dominicana talk shows featuring Armisen as…

Whats Your Number

What's Your Number? Movie Review

Saturday, October 1st, 2011

Title: What’s Your Number? Director: Mark Mylod (TV’s ‘Entourage,’ ‘Shameless’) Starring Anna Faris, Chris Evans and Blythe Danner (‘Little Fockers’) Sometimes people have to go through multiple choices to find the best fit for them. Much like her character Ally Darling in the new romantic comedy ‘What’s Your Number?,’ Anna Faris broke society expectation to do what was right for her. While Ally dated the wrong men just to find someone society would approve of, the actress continuously took on ditzy characters that the public has come to recognize her for playing. But both Ally and Faris both finally stood up for themselves and went after what made them happy….
