Titanic 3D Release Date Announced

Thursday, May 19th, 2011

“I’m the king of the world!” are the words James Cameron will be screaming when he gets the box office receipts for the re-release of the mega-hit “Titanic”. Back in 1997, James Cameron delivered a technological wonder in effectively recreating the tragedy of the sinking of the Titanic. At the time, it was the highest grossing movie of all time and the winner of 11 Academy Awards. Since the release of “Avatar” in 2009, James Cameron has been perfecting the 3D technology and subsequently up-converting his masterpiece, “Titanic”. It has taken over 3 years to do this process with the approval and supervision of Cameron. Well, we now have a…

And then I thought, ‘No, I love it too much.’” As far as the plot goes, Cameron said that he…

Sunday, October 24th, 2010

James Cameron is trying to get director Louis Leterrier to helm the upcoming ‘Fantastic Voyage’ movie, Cinemablend.com is reporting. The ‘Avatar’ director and writer wants Leterrier in part because his last movie, ‘Clash of the Titans,’ grossed nearly half a billion dollars worldwide, despite receiving poor critical reviews. The news comes after it was revealed that Cameron brought in ‘Shutter Island’ writer Laeta Kalogridis to put the finishing touches on the script of Fox’s new remake. The production team for ‘Fantastic Voyage,’ which is based on a ride in Disney World’s Epcot park, is trying to start shooting early next year, as Leterrier is currently free. The Last Exorcism

The Last Exorcism Barely Edges Out Takers At The Box Office

Sunday, August 29th, 2010

Julia Roberts, Scott Pilgrim and a horde of man-eating piranha may have been no match for Sly and the gang, but the devil is a different story. Not only did The Last Exorcism snag the top spot from the The Expendables but this week’s other newcomer Takers, too, but not by much. Eli Roth and Lionsgate are likely very pleased with The Last Exorcism’s $21.3 million opening especially considering the film only took $1.8 million to make. And the same goes for the folks over at Screen Gems. After being bumped from its original May release date, who would have thought Takers would help end the summer with a bang…

There's A Lot Riding On The Last Airbender, $280 Million To Be Exact

Saturday, June 26th, 2010

The thought of James Cameron spending $300 million on Avatar is outrageous, but for some reason, M. Night Shyamalan getting $280 million -$130 million for marketing, $150 million for production – for The Last Airbender seems downright ridiculous. Cameron spends big, but delivers big; with Shyamalan, that’s not always the case, especially recently. Okay, despite getting trounced by the critics The Happening did manage to take in $163.4 million worldwide, but $280 million still seems like too much to gamble on a filmmaker that can’t guarantee quality. Plus, the guy is in a total slump. Ever since Signs, he’s fallen further and further. The Village isn’t terrible, but far from…

Avatar 2 Won't Happen Until It's Certain It'll Live Up To The Original

Friday, April 16th, 2010

Ever since Avatar smashed every box office record in history, it’s been understood that a sequel will follow. But beyond that, nobody really knows anything about Avatar 2 at all, even the first film’s producer, Jon Landau. While talking to ComingSoon at a sneak peek of Avatar on Blu-ray, Landau revealed that he’s feeling some sequel stress. “Look, I think one of the things that we have been successful at is that the most pressure we feel is our own pressure,” he said. “We’ve always said that if the public wanted a sequel that we would do a sequel.” He added, “We’re only going to do it when we have…
