Batman to be rebooted after The Dark Knight Rises

In “Why more reboots?!” news, CinemaBlend is reporting that the Batman franchise will be rebooted after the release of the third Christopher Nolan-verse Batman film, “The Dark Knight Rises”. According to the Warner Brothers executive Jeff Robinov in an interview with the L.A. Times, “We have the third Batman, but then we’ll have to reinvent Batman… Chris Nolan and [wife and producing partner] Emma Thomas will be producing it, so it will be a conversation with them about what the next phase is.” As a longtime Batman fan, I’ve been thrilled with the Nolan-verse Batman films (yes, I’m one of those people who figuratively bows down to Heath Ledger’s Joker).  [ Read More ]

Just this weekend, it was reported by various sources that Joseph Gordon Levitt is, in fact, going to be in the next “Batman” film, “The Dark Knight Rises.” In those various reports, it was stated that he was going to play Alberto Falcone, a.k.a. “The Holiday Killer”. However, that bit of news is false. Contrary to popular belief, Entertainment Weekly has uncovered that while Gordon Levitt will be in the movie, he will not be playing The Holiday Killer. According to the Daily Blam!, Gary Oldman, who is reprising his role as Commissioner Gordon in the “Dark Knight Rises”, has released some details about the film. Aside from calling the storyline “fantastic” despite not admitting to reading the script yet, Oldman gave a few words on Anne Hathaway as Catwoman. “I think she’ll probably wear the cat suit pretty well, don’t you?” he said. “I know the story, I just think it’s going to be terrific. More Info On We3 Film Adaptation

Producer Don Murphy recently talked to Sci Fi Wire about the long-rumored and highly-anticipated adaptation of the Grant Morrison comic “We3″, which he is attached to. According to Murphy, “We3″ already has both a script and a director, and just needs a studio home. John Stevenson (“Kung Fu Panda”) is attached to direct the live-action/CGI adaptation of “We3″, which focused on three domestic animals, a dog, cat, and rabbit, that have been transformed with implants and robotic suits top become high-tech soldiers. Danny Elfman to Score Terminator: Salvation

Danny Elfman has confirmed exclusively for MTV News that he will be composing the music for Terminator: Salvation. Elfman added, saying that the original Terminator theme by composer Brad Fiedel was not in the film as of yet, nor is he sure about the fate of his own score: “I think if it comes up and it seems appropriate, we will [use it]. The Grant Morrison-written Vertigo miniseries “We3″, released in 2004, has made some progress in its long-rumored big-screen adaptation, with John Stevenson announced today to direct. George Miller Off Justice League Movie

Australian filmmaker George Miller recently told a Sydney-based morning talk show that he is no longer affiliated with the long-rumored and supposedly in-production “Justice League” movie. The gears working for this latest attempt at an adaptation of DC Comic’s “Justice League” comic franchise have been moving since February of 2007, when Miller was initially attached to the project, and Warner Bros. had Kieran and Michele Mulroney attached to write a script. The CW Cancels Plans For The Graysons

Variety is reporting that Warner Bros. and the TV network the CW are scrapping plans for “The Graysons”, a “Smallville”-style show about the pre-Boy Wonder days of Dick Grayson, known in the Batman mythos as the first Robin. The CW was initially counting on “The Graysons” to fill the void of the likely end of “Smallville”, which tells the story of a young pre-Superman Clark Kent growing up and discovering his powers and heritage, but Jeff Robinov, the Warner Bros group prexy, pulled the plug, though he’d initially given the concept his blessing when first announced. The CW Going Ahead With Robin And The Graysons

Variety is reporting that TV channel the CW is preparing to start production on a TV series based on Batman’s original sidekick, Robin the Boy Wonder. To be more precise, the series, which is being compared to the channel’s current origins series “Smallville”, which focuses on a teenaged Clark Kent, aka Superman, the series will focus on the early pre-Robin days of the original sidekick of the Batman, Dick Grayson.
