SyFy Planning Another Battlestar Galactica Prequel Series

The SyFy network has greenlitĀ  another ‘Battlestar Galactica’ prequel series, even though it’s still airing its current prequel, ‘Caprica,’ Slashfilm.com is reporting. The new two hour pilot, titled ‘Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome,’ will follow a young William Adama as he serves as a Viper pilot during the first Cylon war. He is ordered to serve during a top secret, but dangerous, mission during the war with the Cylon robots. ‘Blood and Chrome’ is rumored to focus more on the action that was customary during the original re-imaged series SyFy ran for four seasons, starting in 2004. Freddie Prinze Jr. Joins The Cast Of No Heroics

Freddie Prinze Jr. will star in the pilot episode for ABC’s comedy “No Heroics,” which revolves around four friends who also happen to be B-list superheros. So far three of the roles have been filled, and will be played by Eliza Coupe (“Scrubs”), Arielle Kebbel (“The Uninvited”) and Paul Campbell (“Battlestar Galactica”). Prinze Jr. will play Bradley, aka Ultimatum, an egotistical, arrogant, and famous superhero with fame, good looks, women, wealth, and endorsement deals, everything that the rest of the heroes in the series don’t. “No Heroics” first premiered on TV in the United Kingdom in 2008 about a world not unlike ours except for the existence of superpowered heroes…

Sci-Fi Channel Greenlights Galactica Spinoff

Variety is reporting that the Sci-Fi Channel has greenlit “Caprica,” the highly-anticipated prequel to the hit TV series “Battlestar Galactica”. Premiering with a TV miniseries in 2003, and the follow-up TV series in 2004, “Battlestar Galactica” is revamped take on the classic and sometime cheesy cult 70′s show about space pilgrims fleeing a race of deadly conqueror robots known as the Cylons, as they search for sanctuary on the long-lost planet Earth. It has become one of the cable channel’s biggest hits. “Caprica” will star Esai Morales, Eric Stoltz, Paula Malcomson and Polly Walker, and will be set 50 years prior to the start of “Galactica’s” and the Cylon invasion….
