Rango Movie Review

Posted by Joe Belcastro On March - 4 - 2011 0 Comment

Title: Rango Director: Gore Verbinski Starring the voices of: Johnny Depp, Isla Fisher, Ned Beatty, Alfred Molina, Billy Nighy, Ray Winstone, Ian Abercrombie, Abigail Breslin, Stephen Root, Timothy Olyphant There’s a perk in avoiding trailers, previews and the numerous production notes studios constantly send a critic’s way. This theory was applied to the 107 minute “Rango.” For the only element this guy knew of was that Johnny Depp is voicing the lead lizard. Aside from that, I was confused why no one handed me a pair of 3D glasses for my screening. Animations and 3D glasses frequently go together much like Jennifer Aniston and bad romantic-comedies join forces. Shockingly, this  [ Read More ]

Wild Target Movie Review

Posted by Perri Nemiroff On October - 30 - 2010 0 Comment

Title: Wild Target Directed By: Jonathan Lynn Starring: Bill Nighy, Emily Blunt, Rupert Grint, Rupert Everett, Eileen Atkins You’d think working with a story that’s already been made into a feature film would give a writer a head start and make certain pitfalls easier to avoid, however, that’s certainly not the case for Lucinda Coxon and her version of the 1993 French film, Cible Emouvante, Wild Target. Not only is her script sloppy and ludicrous, but then it wound up in the hands of director Jonathan Lynn who opted to send it further into a whirlwind of silliness. It’s the cast of Wild Target that deserves all of the credit  [ Read More ]
